Honey Cheese Pimiento
Cheese Pimiento is a very common and well-liked sandwich spread by both kids and adults. The addition of honey gave it a distinct pleasant taste and a tad healthier too!
- 1 270g Old Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup bottled sweet red peppers (drained well and finely chopped)
- 3 Tbsps honey
- 2 Tbsps softened butter or Becel
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well with a spoon until fully combined.
Transfer to a lidded food container and refrigerate until needed.
Serve with sliced bread, toasted if preferred.
***Add more mayonnaise if you prefer a looser texture. And additional honey, if you want a sweeter spread.
***You can make the peppers from scratch. Just grill one red bell pepper until softened and all sides are charred. Place in a bowl, cover with cling wrap ( to trap the heat and moisture for easier peeling ) until cool, peel off the charred skin, drain with paper towels and chop finely.
